Title: That unlit section beside the front indicators
Post by: john87 on October 12, 2011, 10:00:25 am
...does anyone know if it is where DRL's are fitted in countries which require them?

I'm sure I've seen an R32 in the past with this area lit  would look quite good lit up in combination with the sidelights IMO  :happy2:

Xenon's have them lit i believe. Been looking at fitting a bulb holder into these to use as side lights,

I remeber benny-lenny did this on his mk5 but with blue led bulbs  nice idea poorly executed

On xenons it's the side light. On halogens it's not used as the sidelight is in the full beam lens

thanks chaps, I thought I'd seen it used before!

I dont understand why, apart from just to look different, they don't use the full beam reflector as the sidelight on the HID headlights as it still has a halogen full beam does it not? Anyway, I wonder how easy it is to retrofit this to halogen headlights  :popcornsoda:

Have often wondered about the possibility for DRL's inthis wee unused slot.

Eagerly awaiting somebody with a spare set of headlights to DIY this. :popcornsoda:
