Well dropped my edition 30 off at a firm called torque tronix over here in northern ireland. Wanted a stage 1 remap to open up the engine and access some of the potential of the ed30. So with only the addition of a forge diverter valve and 3-4 hours of remapping the car ended up with 312bhp. So far I'm very impressed. The power comes on very smooth and is very similar to oem delivery. A lot of get up and go from any gear really. Though I'm not sure whether to go for a milltek non-res exhaust system to ensure all the hot gases are expelled more efficiently from the engine and of course to improve the exhaust note.
Let me know what you all think in relation to the graph below.... :happy2:

Now fixed hopefully!

That,s a lot from just a stage 1 remap?? How did they confirm the output? My old ED30 was stage 2, TBE milltek and intake and made a very healthy 305 BHP on SRR rollers, which are very neutral.
Glad your enjoying it
-
Can't see the graph...
-
Hey Moglie,
Im also thinking of getting an edition 30.. Id love to see one up close before I make the journey over to the UK to pick up one.
Im not sure about the 1/2 leather 1/2 tartan.
Are you ever down in Dublin?
There are none down her that I know of.
Cheers,
Oisin

i think the Ed30's interior is one of the best things about them! the tartan/leather combo looks amazing!!
-
I reckon if I got a look at one it might make me change my mind...
Im sure it'll look sweet in the flesh..

Correct, a stage 1 map without any mods on an accurate RR will give an average 275bhp.

Does seem a little high for Stage 1...
What I achieved on JKM's rollers... Standard car with just Revo Stage 1...

That's a very healthy car and must drive really well :happy2:

Dave @Torque Tronix is a good guy :happy2:
300-305 is easily achievable with a good stg1 map, even on DynoDynamics.
-
How come revo only make ~290?
-
I usually see 285-290 on 95ron cars and 295-305 on 98ron fuel.
K04 95ron: http://www.dyno-tuning.co.uk/gallery/seatLeonCupraTFSI.htm
K04 98 ron: http://www.dyno-tuning.co.uk/gallery/vwGolfEdition30.htm
Both cars make within 2% of stock figures when un-mapped.

But hes quoting 310 plus??
When I ran a RR day at SRR, which are considered the most consistent, I think the highest stage 1 was 295bhp.
Sorry but this sounds a little too much - Id love to see the before and after RR - Was it on AMD rollers..........
To be fair though its not about the headline figures, its how it drives.
-
Ok, say its 305bhp. 312bhp is only an extra 2% over what it may be making in reality.
You can gain 5% on a dyno by running with slightly over inflated tyres so the peak figure on a chassis dyno is never a reliable factor. Its the difference in % between stock and tuned and the shape of the power and torque curves.
-
Mine makes a healthy 298bhp on a DD dyno and 311bhp on a Dastek dyno on a stage 1 map :happy2:

My point made - the dyno lottery!

Cheers, yeah I would have to say it drives really well, pulls so smoothly through rev range. Was/am very impressed with what APD Performance did to it with the Revo... Hoping the Stage2 on Wednesday just let's the torque curve widen and the bhp continue up at the initial slope... Can't wait. Cheers!

Ever hear the saying " If something seems too good to be true it usually is". I think in most cases the lower figure is more likely to be correct. Even a DynoDynamics dyno is only as good as the operator.

I'm getting mine RR at AMD next week, ed 30 will most bolt ons running stage 3 bluefin! First RR ever and a bit nervous but ill keep you boys updated with the figures!!

I will be disappointed if its anything less than 740hp!!!! :signLOL:
maybe ill just save my money then and not bother getting it RR there! Getting the RS4 valve fitted so though why not!

The best way is lay the stock and tuned graphs back to back so the gains can be seen and not just peak number reading. So if its over reading stock the number will reflect the same on the tuned run. I tend not to go chasing peak graph numbers instead I aim to get the most area under the curve vs the stock map.
