Title: Modding a High Milage GTI
Post by: Manney on October 13, 2011, 03:18:48 pm

Hi,

My 2006 GTI now has 93,000 miles on the clock, I've had it for nearly 2 years with no problems at all so have no plans to change it for a few years.  The car has a full service history, all recalls done and the HPFP cam follower is in good condition.

I'm thinking of doing the usual mods, air intake, exhaust, remap and probably lower it a tad.

My main question is, are these mods ok for a higher milage car?  Is there anything else I should replace before getting the mods done i.e dv, engine mounts, suspension bushes for example?  Is the clutch likely to died!?

I live in Cornwall so choice of remaps locally are Revo (but no rolling road at garage), custom code and celtic tuning.  What would you go for?  I did fancy revo but not having a rolling road at the garage has put me off abit.

mine has 99500 miles on her maped her last year and going good, would advise a rolling road setion berfore mapping though, just to be sure all is wel with your car, i changed my dv and pcv and did a full service before hand
