Just drove 30 miles to drop the car off as it was booked in to find they closed shop on monday!?

What! I had a hunch that they were desperate (all the offers on their website in recent months), but of the few times that I've been in they have seemed busy.

I guess that the location wasn't great - close to Western VW on Gorgie Road which is more established and much more prominent. Witherspoon's customer service was good, better than Western VW. I had a 15% discount at Witherspoons too. Double gutted.
