Hi all,
I think I found my car..
Its a 08 gti dsg.
What checks do i need to do on the DSG?
Also there is a small bit of surface rust on one of the arches, down where it meets the sill..
Its Full leather,
MFSW
Highline
Standard twisty controlled climate control..
And thats about it.
I will be adding
tinted rear lights,
possibly Xenons
stage 1
some form of lowering (suggestions most welcomed :))
and exhaust and intake
so if youve got any of the above parts PM me :)
Also let me know what to look for or look out for before i drop the cash on this car..
How do you know if it has real or fake pescara's?
thanks all...

if it's an Ed30 then it'll have had them from the factory.
if it's a standard car my guess is they're reps, but the only way to tell is to check the back of the wheel. it should have VW stamps along with the size and BBS stamps.
08 cars are fairly new, but if it's strayed over 60k miles (or approaching) then it'll need a cambelt/water pump change. make sure this is done. it's expensive!
other than that they're pretty good. just check the standard sort of stuff. surprised it's rusting already? i'd see if the owner can get this sorted from VW before cash exchanges hands.
lowering wise it depends all on budget. i got some 2nd hand Weitic Hicon GTs with 3k miles on for £400, and then £275 to fit with a full laser alignment. i didn't need the adjustability, it was just so i could get it sitting exactly how i wanted. i'd recommend them all day :happy2:

The spot where you say the car is rusting is a common spot, mine has been in last week to have this area resprayed. VW covered the whole cost of this. I'm surprised that the current owner hasn't sorted this.

Its a standard Gti,
they say they were specced from the factory. but ill check the stamps etc..
It got just over 30k on the clock.
Im hoping that VW will cover the rust, but you know what VW are like :o
thanks again

To be honest VW were really good about the rust on mine, took it in they inspected it, within a week they said they would pay for the lot and then another week later it was booked in and done. They will only refuse if the car has had paint in that area before, which is unlikely.
My GTI is fairly standard apart from Xenons, seems like the one you are looking at seems pretty good and you can always add all the extras you want.

the Pescaras were not available on the standard GTI as a factory option. i doubt they're real. i've got a set for sale tho if you want :P
