Car is due a service in a 1000 miles and is standard, should I change this whilst everything else is getting done? Thanks
-
I changed mine and noticed no difference in performance. I would leave it if it's working ok.
-
Yeah dont change if it's working fine... Only change if loss of boost or remapping...

As above, I only upgraded due to my original have a split diaphragm. Also if you have an ed30 the dv is at the front if the engine so a 5 minute job to swap.
-
Done mine the other day, only took half hour. Had a rip in it and it was a rev c on it so as its 05 plate I think its not the 1st time its been replaced
-
Mines a 06 gti, feels quick enough but because your here about them a lot just wondered if its actually as quick as it should be?? Thanks everyone
-
I'd replace it as a matter of precaution if you're going to get a remap, otherwise if you are on the stock map and it appears to be running OK just leave it.

Is it the same part number for the ED30 and standard GTi D/V?
I don't suppose you know of any fitting guides to change them over on an ED30?
Thanks

I believe its now a standard part on this engine, part number is 06H 145 710 D
With the ED30 i think its just a case of removing the engine cover then undoing 3 bolts to remove

Thanks, another little "mod" to add
-
I would leave it only replace it if its broken.

Not a bad call that, thought mine was the cause of my hesitation/ stutter so bought the D revision (£53 later) and after getting the old old version out it looked fine...plus a bit of a pain to get to on normal gti as you probably have read.

Is VW likely to be the cheapest place to buy one? I noticed Awesome are selling them for £52.79...
