Title: Another offset question
Post by: Syrag64 on October 15, 2011, 02:19:23 pm
Been offered some 8 x 18 et 35 and 9 x 18 et 40, would these go on without too much trouble or do I need to mod the bodywork?  Car will be lowered on collies.

Also what size tyres should I get?

Ok, the 8J's will stick out a further 22mm and the 9J's and extra 30mm.... :surprised:

They will go on, but if you run the coilovers to low I would say they would definitely foul the arches particular the 9J's.  Tyre wise, 225 will sit fine on the 8's, but I would step up to 235 on the 9's with a 35 profile possibly.

The above measurements are compared to standard 18" Monza's by the way (7.5J ET51).

For future reference you could use this offset calculator, its the one I use.  :happy2:

Ran a similar offset before...

had

205/40's on the 8J fronts

215/40's on the 9J rears

-2 Camber on the rears because mine were ET35 Rears...

and dropped 50mm on coillies
