-
looking very tidy...those wheels are like new!
...looking at pic 2... does your car live in a carpeted garage?
my mrs would never let me do that
-
Looks mint Gaz :happy2:
-
Cheers JPC and TC. It will only be that clean until the first timeit rains which is imminent by the look of it!
V.C the garage is semi carpeted. My mate works for a company that supplies and cleans industrial mats. The one you can see in the pic actually says "WELCOME TO FORREST FURNISHING" ! :signLOL: The wheels are only 5 days old!
Beggers can't be choosers.....

Looks very nice.
Heres to carpet in the garage... :signLOL:

CHECKED it out JPC! looks like I will be measuring the garage tonight.
Cheers Newey, Tornado is the future!. I used to have a mk2 big bumper exactly the same as the one in your pic. Thats when I fell in love with red GTI's.
-
im getting some for where i detail the cars in my unit.
if the car is sat there for two days, it can peel my paint off. especially when the car parks up and the tyres are still a bit warm
-
Here is a quick update. :jumpmove:
Been a bit of strange one TBH. This week the car got serviced , mot'd , calipers painted, detailed, new Genuine Monza II's (Top Cats original wheels bought from veedubdan!) , and blinds put on (cheers Oli) and the car looks the same but I am £1300 lighter. Go figure! :stupid:
I love the look of the GTI as standard so I am not going down the lowering, colour coding route. OEM is the way for me boring as it may be :driver:
Enjoy....

Looking good Daz! :congrats:
(just needs colour coding and lowering!  )
-
Looks spot on now :happy2: wheels are far too good to have stayed sitting in my garage. Enjoy....bet you lower it, I could see your cogs whirring looking at mine
-
Cant believe those Chinese copies fooled two people. :signLOL:
Looks perfect. :happy2:
-
Cheers chaps. :happy2: Really chuffed with the way it looks and drives now. :driver:
Sod's bloody law though, woke up this morning and it is snowing again! :surprised: British bloody summertime? :scared:
-
looks very clean, don't seem to have kerbed alloys there m8.
Nice one. :congrats:
-
Looking Good Daz, agree with the OEM look, makes me want to get some Monza II's on my stead, does a better job of filling the arch with the bigger wheels. Also have the flaps on mine and with the black plastic rear and side skirts they look real good. :happy2:
You got any plans to increase the spec on her? Xenon lights, etc
-
What has Greenouse started! Daz! :signLOL:

Wheels are mint mate. A credit to thier former owners :innocent: Not sure how long they will stay that way though as the wife uses the car every day. :scared:

Cheers Rich. The monza II's are a must mate. Just finish the car off IMO. Nice to hear you have got the mudflaps on too! :happy2: There is a few of us on the forum but I think you either love 'em or hate 'em. I love 'em
I would like to change a few things in the interior. an RCD 510 is top of the list then maybe Highline and MFSW. Will just bide my time on the right parts coming up. Externally I am happy with the looks though, anything I do change will be subtle!
-
Gaz just realised I messed up and called you Daz :ashamed: :scared:
Also noticed you have the winter pack so a Xenon retro fit would be fairly easy

:signLOL: It's cool mate. Greenouse did it a few posts back. It must be catching :signLOL:
ah ha! Does the winter pack have extra wiring in place for xenons Rich? May have to keep my eye out for a set. My old cooper S had Xenons and they were a bit improvement over standard ! :driver:
-
No the wiring isnt there but Kufatec do some wiring adapters, but by UK law you have to have self leveling and washers to have xenon lights, so you already have one of the box's ticked  And you will have the larger washer fluid tank and low washer fluid warning.
First time for Xenons for me on the GTI and I must say I love them, they are awesome on full beam as you get the standard main beam bulbs as well as opening up the aperture so an absolute flood of light. And the levelling check at start up is very cool!

Ace Rich, Ta very much for the info. Handy stuff to know if I ever come accross a set.:happy2: Would have hit the 'thank you' button but can't find it ! :ashamed:

Typical royal mail. got a letter through the door saying that the letter was 10p underpaid so they couldn't deliver it, then had the cheek to charge me another £1.00 for a "handling fee". :chicken:
All good though. :happy2:
