Congrats Mike. Hope your luck turns around for you and your family too. :drinking:
Mate.... We had our twins at 32weeks +4 days, trust the NeoNatal people they do an excellent job.....if you need reassuring head down the ward and see the mums and dads with the 25 weekers....
Infection is common as are breathing probs, they probably didnt get to get the lung development steroids in if it happened that quickly, they'll be on antibiotics/vitamins/fluids 02 enriched environment with humidity controlled because of the skin....
Give them a couple of days to get sorted and they'll be wrapping them up and handing them to you.....First cuddle = dad crying like a good'un perfectly normal.
Before you know it you'll have a bruiser, there's lot of studies premy babies before 30 weeks can have issues later on, 30wks+ and they'll grow up perfectly A1ok
Well done to mum - this is where the fun starts - get sorted at home you may not see them home for another 3-5 weeks get fully sorted and ready for the proudest moment of your life when you walk out of the place with him in his car seat....I had one in each hand and stopped traffic - awesome
Cherish every second as they grow up so fast!
Congratulations to you and your good lady wife Mike! :drinking:
Life will never be the same!
Well done to you both......and wish you and he family all the best!! :happy2:
This is whats called 'unconditional love' nothing can/will ever come close to it, and it builds as they get older. My son is 9 now, going on 29. I was young and selfish, having him was the best thing ever < I would give up everything and anything for him, no question!!
Only wish < he could stay a child, he will be 18 before I know it.
Congrats Mike :drinking: Big life event.
Wish the little fella, mum and dad all the very best :happy2:
Congratulations mike.
You, natalie and little harry will have to pop in when you uge to chilwell mate :happy2:
Wonderful news, Mike. Your life wil never be the same. Best wishes to your good lady, and the wee fella.
If you have any questions my best buddy is a neonatal paediatrician. So ask away, mate.
Congratulations mike. I wish your new arrival the best of health.
I can only imagine what an amazing feeling it is to become a parent :-)
Congratulations Mike. :drinking:
I used to burst out crying regularly in the first couple of months just looking at my son. still do now, but usually because he is jumping on my head and bigger than me. :rolleye:
Say goodbye to free time as you know it now, it will be 4 years until you see it again. :indifferent:
Congratulations Mike, get the camera busy and use as many SD cards as you can, every picture will be precious.good advise about taking pics as they change so much in just the first few weeks
Best wishes to all of you, :drinking:
Regards,
John.
ps do we still have BMH over there or was it a civvy hospital? Both of mine were born in the Fatherland, one in Hanover and one in Rinteln. I think they're both blocks of trendy apartments now!
Congrats Mike. :congrats:
Surely this thread title needs to be changed to TFSI Mikes latest money pit.
And don't breast feeding if you can't/don't want too... our daughter couldn't be to start with so with "expressed" for about a month, but she always slept better and was fuller on SMA milk, and she's as bright as a button and very healthy so it's all a load of Bull, just do what you feel best and just ENJOY!

....I'd love to debate the sense and reasons why Breast Is Best but this thread isn't the place. So rather than call a different point of view "a load of Bull", as you put it, I'll agree with you insofar as doing what you feel is best.

RR imho(or in MY point of view) it is "a load of Bull"(dunno why you have to question someone else's PoV/opinion), food nutrition science has come on a fair bit and there's no way of distinct saying Breast is Best...
Oh and please don't listen to any opinions about breastfeeding from men who are more used to taking about cars. Trust the healthcare professionals who, I think, have a little bit more of an idea what they're talking about.
Lets not turn a wonderful thread into a debate about tits. :fighting2:
I think MR parker was meaning , generally health care know a bit more than men on tinternet, and robin all your points have been very valid. :happy2:
MR Danza hit the nail on the head perfectly.
Nurse has taken a couple of pictures and printed them so we can take him to the room Natalie is staying in, will post the little cutie tommorrow

Fingers crossed for you Mike.
It wont be long before he's all grown up and wanting to invade Poland.
He was born in St Vincentz, German civvy hospital happy2 My boy is German! scaredthis actually happened to a mate of mine when he was posted to germany. He was originally born in germany and not registered in time by his parents. He got detained at hannover airport for not turning up for his conscription despite him being in the BRITISH army already. They had him for a good couple weeks before it was all quashed
I had to register mine at the British Consulate in Hanover within a certain time or they would both be German nationals and subject to National Service in the lad's case.
I melted the pistons on my knackered Fiat 125 twin cam going there so that was a day to remember. :stupid: Happy days.
Regards,
John

Now you start worrying about everything, 'is the temperature right in here, has he eaten enough do you think, he looks a different colour than 10 minutes ago'. Just enjoy it and remember your instincts are nearly always right.
