I'm getting a constant rattling noise from the exhaust.. What could this be? I have a video which I will upload later
-
It is probably the heatshield. Mine does it on my octavia and I had lost one of the fittings. I noticed it when I shut the rear door and it rattled. Climb under whilst someone shuts the door. Just an idea.
-
Or loose baffles inside the exhaust system. But my money is on the heat shield.

So what do I need to do if it is the heatshield? Replace it?
It will be going on the ramps later on today to see what the problem is.

That doesn't sound very good. If it is the heat shield then you just need to clip it back into place. There are some serrated washers that grip a threaded pin that holds them together as they overlap if that makes sense. I had lost a washer and the two pieces of heatshield were vibrating and rattling.
That does sound a by more exhaust related though than mine did. Time for a Milltek?

sounds like the welds have cracked or the cat has come apart inside just get under the car and give the cat a shake/tap and listen for a rattle inside the cat

Problem sorted.. It was the heatshield, exhaust knocking on the shield plus the washer rattling too. Exhaust has been slightly moved forward and tis all good now

Good news. Glad it's sorted :happy2:
