Title: Headlight problem
Post by: stuartDLK on October 19, 2011, 03:59:08 pm
Hey folks, I got a mk5 GTi last friday and just noticed there seems to be like a fog over the front headlights. Can anyone give me ideas how to get it off and to bring them as close to new? Also the surround around the VW badge on the honeycomb grill is a faded black is there anything i could do it restore these 2 things?

Thanks Stuart  :happy2:

To carry out a DIY wet n dry sand you have to be brave and ideally own a DA or Rotary polisher.  Steps are to sand the headlight with upwards of 2000 grit wet n dry, then machine polish the finish back starting with an aggresive cut polish eg. Menz Power Gloss, followed by a less aggressive polish eg. Menz Power Finish.
