Just had the Wifes Mini Mot'd and the new Certificate is Naff. So Easy to copy/forge and its printed on plain A4 paper ! A step back i think. Any other views?

Where your vehicle is tested on or after the 16 October 2011 you will receive a new style of MOT certificate. This will be printed on plain paper in a landscape format instead of a pre-printed coloured form. Changes to the certificates are part of an ongoing drive to reduce costs and wastage.
I think that given more and more things are going online, I wonder whether the print out is more of a cursory thing. Agree - can be forged for when/buying selling cars but you can always do an online check.
-
Exactly right. You might be able top forge the paperwork, but they check using registration plates on their online database, so you would have to forge/hack that as well

All these certificates these days are piontless its all on the database which is inturn linked to anpr cameras i mean whats the point in mot disks these days???
-
yup it aint the paper work you have to keep an eye on these days, its the car's details electronically...only a very naive person would rely on the pieces of paper only :rolleye:

I only found out not so long ago that MOT's are only good for one day, the day that you get the MOT done. :stupid:
