nice 1, you can give me some tips :happy2:
-
Sure. Don't though it in the gravel at Cascades :ashamed:
I'll be happy to do a few passenger laps :happy2:
-
That would be great if you can make it Mike. Met your mate with Clio and Lotus again a couple of months back at Anglesey at a Lotus trackday. I was driving my mates 111S, couldn't be more different to the S3 round a track if you tried
-
Simon and the flame spitter of win.
I'd love to get my mitts on a Lotus on track that I wasn't worried about stuffing. I know they're quick, but I bet with some talent and that bit of your brain removed that tells you to slow down, they're amazing.
I'll try my best :happy2:
-
ill certainly be along for a catchup :happy2:

Tried to ring you yesterday clutter related q, wasntg sure if you still had yours or if you'd swept it back to the door of the hire company....
Might pop along with a green 5 litre tin of unleaded and blag a pax lap in the S3, still chuckling after the ride down to inters
-
no need for the fuel Dave, more than welcome :happy2:
ride to inters was fun

Yeah, I had a bad signal in the basement of a restaurant. I handed mine back early - Whatcha after??
If it's a 197/200 then all they need is pads. No fancy drilling/grooving, no extra cooling, no bigger discs/calipers.... just pads :happy2:
CL RC5+, Pagid RS29, Mintex F4R all the weapons of choice in the Clio Cup race series.
-
I'll be there for sure :happy2:
-
nobody else???? suprised its local to a few on here :happy2:

Tempted as it's literally 10 mins away and my 2nd favourite UK track, but did promise myself to give the car a break from track duty till next year, but then again it is just around the corner
-
get on it, its only up the road
-
Gaz
Wouldn't mind coming over for a few hours - not racing - but If I could get a ride as a passenger that would be fun :driver:
-
I would have but think I will be missing this one out as I'm off to spa for 4 days on the 12th so keeping costs down a bit.

that last day I did at Anglesey was a Lotus day in the wet, driving my mates modded 111s, there were plenty of offs :driver:
not by me by the way, I wasn't goin fast enough
-
Plus point about moving back to England I can start getting track experience and come to some meets :)
-
dont want to worry you TC but one elise went off pretty hard when I was there last weekend, wasnt pretty !
stay safe :happy2:
-
I can recommend Cascades if you're going to have an off
-
A lad i know came off at Dentons about ten days ago and finished his off, at cascades. Went backwards down the grass at over a hundred ending up in the tyre wall. :congrats:
-
Nice commitment!!
When I realised it wasn't going to stop, I had that split second to decide whether to turn or not, I straightened it up, gritted my teeth and threw it in the litter. Had to turn on the handbrake (steering doesn't work) to save me from said tyres, as it wasn't scrubbing speed...
-
I will be taking it very easy in mine, i am going their more for the experience with other Lotus drivers as it is a lot safer being a passenger. :pomppomp:
-
Smoothness is key off season, slow in, fast out.
Oh, and not watching the back of a Bora, saying "that looks odd" and then realising you've missed the braking point.
-
I can recommend Cascades if you're going to have an off
It's where the clutter belonged! ;-)
-
:signLOL:
-
wasnt a black was it TC?
youve got track insurance, so i wouldnt worry :happy2:
-
Had a great day today at Oulton. Such an amazing track for the little Lotus. Had a big off on my first lap, i was taking it easy as it was greasy in a few places due to the time of year, came out of Druids and the car twitched a bit i lifted off a bit too fast and the next thing i know my rear spoiler was passing my passenger window. Couldn't catch the spin and ended up sliding backwards for about 40 yards along the grass getting closer and closer to the arnco. Stopped with less than 6 inches to spare. :innocent:  :rolleye:
This turned out to be a blessing though as it made me fully aware of my driving style. I had to learn to be ultra smooth, on and off all of my pedals and how important the apexes where to hit, once i got used to this it was quite amazing how fast i could push it.
Be careful next week guys Oulton park does not take prisoners.
-
Glad u had a good day Tom :happy2:, think a lot of what you have said could be the difference in the cars. The modern cars like the GTI and the S3 let you get a way with murder and they are very forgiving and easy to drive fast, where as stuff like your Exige and the Elise are much more focused and deffo less forgiving but if you learn how to drive them they are very quick and make our regular stuff seem clumbersome. Just my opinion of course, having driven both on track recently and of course Oulton can bite u on the arse
-
Glad you had a good en' peanut! Hope to see you there next Saturday :happy2: :happy2:
-
Oh yeah, I forgot to say - there's a wet line at Oulton.
Nice save TC, the good thing is you know what it feels like when it's going wrong, so you can nip it in the bud next time :happy2:
-
I also had a heart stopping moment at Clay hill. Put 2 wheels on the grass just after it kinks left, i was at 8000 RPM in fourth so traveling at way over a hundred. My arms and hands swapped sides in the blink of an eye  proper sh*t me up, i knew i couldn't turn away from the grass without spinning so had a few seconds to see my life flash before me. If i had had come off at that point, pretty sure i would not be here. went home after that. :driver:

Pure adrenaline :scared:

I hope this fog clears up by the weekend for you guys!
-
I've had 3 goes at Oulton this year, 2 dry and 1 wet :happy2:
So far i'm managed to outbrake myself and run on at Knickerbrook, put 2 wheels on the grass on the outside of Old hall and somehow saved a slide coming out of Druids in the wet on the Taiwanese track tyres of win - Mrs Beddie requested to be dropped back off at the paddock after that one, mard arse!
-
:signLOL:
reminds me of myself at druids a few years back i lost the power steering on the entry to druids and had to full throttle it to drag myself out of it full lock then ito the pits feeling the luckiest man alive!! such a decieving corner.
-
I'm going tomorrow for a watch with a few mates. I'll be in my grey ED30 so if you see me then holla. :)
-
I'm not going to make it sadly. But have a good day, weather looks perfect for it. :happy2:
Remember - Druids never dries!

Fantastic day at Oulton today, bit slippy early on but dried out. Was quite busy, but not too long to wait. Car ran really strong all day without missing a beat :happy2:

Nice to meet you Gaz, your car looked like it was going well. Sounded lovely too, proper roars!

Now, that's a saturday Afternoon
-
Had an awesome morning, good to see the regulars again and meet a few new faces :happy2:
Track dryed out perfectly and was a complete hoot to drive! Car was being a complete arse all morning, going into limp mode constantly because of the traction control :fighting: :fighting: Anyways once that was disabled she was flying :happy2:
-
