Title: Test drive booked in an ED30
Post by: Tinytim on October 25, 2011, 09:26:57 pm
Test drive booked in an ED30 for the weekend.
It's at a local independent dealer who are asking 13.5k for it.
5 door red 08 plate with dsg and 50,000 on the clock.

Does £13,500 sound reasonable?
I have no part ex do would hope to get at least £500 off that.

I am of course rather biased..

If you have Cash in hand,in the current climate, im sure the dealer will be prepared to meet an agreement :happy2:

Thanks for the info guys.

I too thought the ED30 was only available on an 07 plate onwards.
Now for the next question. What's the newest one you have seen\aware of.

I thought they stopped at 58 plate but maybe there are a few 09 plates lurking.

I saw the black Pirelli in classifieds but there are a few small dents plus it says the passenger door has been repaired at some point. Kind of put me off

As far as I know the order book opened in/around mid Jan 2007 for Ed30.
I drove 2x local demonstrators which were both 56 platers.
Once driven I was hooked and zombie walked to the paperwork to order.
Ordered one straight away mid Jan 07 and by the time it arrived it was the first week of March so mine is 07 Reg, I think most were done by 08 Reg...but really not certain on that end of the process.

Enjoy the test drive.

similar thing happened to me. Black Eddy at Birmingham VW. was driving past and semi looking for a new car. took it for a spin and the only thing that stopped me buying it was i was too young to be insured on it  :sad1:. otherwise no doubt i'd still be driving it now. i didn't think the suspension was great tho, but i would have uprated it anyway so no bother
