Post by: ams_sxi on October 26, 2011, 09:17:56 am
Looking to buy some good car mats cant afford the orignal ones, so wanted to see what you guys are using.

Anyone know where to get some decent ones?

I've used autostyle for my mats a few times now.

This Ebay seller is worth a look. I'll be getting some rubber mats from him soon.

They do come up on ebay, that is where i managed to get genuine ones from - the best option IMO, just need to keep you eye out. Mine were just listed as mats, so enquired if they had a part number which the seller hadnt mentioned - and voila - half the price from a dealer and brand spanking.  :happy2:

Thanks for thinking of me,
Though already offered my set, not interested due to the metal plate.
(though to be honest foot doesn't slip at all as it has the carpet coming through the holes.)

Another vote for eBay. Got a set of genuine GTI mats for £10.50 + £8 P&P.

Used these guys often. It's actually Hayselden VW Barnsley. They do OEM mats in pairs, so you don't need to buy all 4 if you don't need. I've a full set of OEM carpet mats, but got a front pair of OEM rubber ones from these folk for winter. Ideal :happy2:

Don't like rubber mats but now you've said it they're perfect for winter mode...

Hated them at first, Mike. Once you've seen the amount of muck they gather, though.... Plus you can just pull them out of the footwells & hose them off. Better than 1001 carpet cleaner and scrubbing :happy2:
