Hi,
I'm going to be getting a HPFP fitted with Autotech internals after reading about good gains even without going Stage 2+.
At the moment my Edition 30 just has a Revo stage 1 remap and Neuspeed intake. I assume it'll play nicely with my set-up as others have reported?
Do you think it's worth getting a SPS switch to tweak the Revo settings to account for the new pump or will the ECU adapt automatically?
-
The ecu should adapt but you might still be able to increase the boost a notch with the superior fuelling.
NB You should log the car if you change any settings.
-
Cheers! :happy2:
I don't have VAGCOM so buying that and a SPS switch just to get a few more ponies will probably not be worth it.
What would I need to log? Fuel rail pressure actual vs requested? I have a phone app with OBD adapter but it only lists fuel rail pressure and I'm not sure if it's requested or actual.
Out of interest what kind of gains are people seeing with a HPFP on stage 1?
-
If the search button would reappear then I would direct you to a post by KRL where he showed that even with stage 1 on a S3 the fuelling is a bit marginal with the oem pump compared to an uprated one.
-
Thanks - KRL's original post is below and is very informative however it does not mention actual bhp/torque gains.

I just got a HPFP with Autotech internals fitted and it feels good on stage 1 but prior to fitting I did not have the remap on the car, so going back to it is obviously a big difference, and it's hard to tell what difference of that is due to the HPFP!
I'm going to experiment with BTF settings - I'm thinking B7T4F9 would be a good starting point as I can only really run on 97RON fuel in my location.
I understand I could probably raise the boost more for more low down torque but not necessarily more top-end power. What difference would altering the air-to-fuel ratio cause?
What should I log while testing? :happy2:
-
I wouldn't have thought a uprated HPFP, would make any difference at all if the fuel pressure requests are being met!

maybe the requests are met sooner???
I ran the APR pump before going 2+ and there was a deffinate improvement in response

Revo push the fuel pump even on stage1. You can get good results with a pump.
-
Hmmm.... does HPFP have a massive effect on MPG?
-
Rich - step away from the Ed30. :signLOL:

PMSL! I can't....
-
You should. Better things to waste your money on.
-
Such as?

I could say house Rich but I wont.

Thanks guys, as I said I don't know how much difference it'd make with standard Revo settings but it should allow me to run higher boost. :happy2:
Can anyone confirm though...
What should I log when testing?
