I brought a golf mk5 1.6 se and the air bag light is on, the bloke said it came on after turning the airbags back on in the glovebox any ideas how to remove the light? Thanks
-
Have it scanned with VCDS - it'll tell you the fault and let you attempt to clear it, although if it's a permenant fault it'll come back on.
Where do you live? There will likely be someone near you with a diagnostic cable.
-
when you locate the bad one, try to disconnect it, and clean the plugs as it's a common fault that the plugs gets faulty

Im in cannock west midlands? Would it be on
If the air bag was switched off at glovebox?

Well, yes it would.
Put your key in the airbag switch and turn it back on, if the light goes away then that's your source.

Okkk mate ill try that tommrow cheers

Its more than likely a connector under one of the front seats, you'll need it plugged in anyway to reset it.

Iv turned airbag back on inside the glove box snd the light is still on

If you can't get your car scanned, try what others have written - trace your wiring and check the plugs.
Has it had a bump previously, deploying any airbags?

Ill check the plugs mate & nope never had an accident mate
