Title: Extend VW Warranty ?
Post by: garrardrj on October 31, 2011, 08:55:55 pm
Should i or shouldn't ! ? Been quoted £294 for the Comprehensive with Recovery via RAC. Now its for my Ed30 , i did 2000 miles last year and expect the same this year. Car has done 19000 and had cambelt service May 2011 , also getting serviced annually due to low mileage. I think its a good deal , what do you think ?

i'd call warranty direct

as an example i got the same level of cover off warranty direct for £510 that would have cost nearly £2k from the dealer's extended warranty scheme. this was on a W221 S320 CDI tho, and Merc do like ripping people off for guaranteeing that their supposed top quality product should work as Herr Daimler and Herr Benz intended for more than 3 years.

Still undecided . cars done 18900 miles and not likely to do more than 2k in next year. By not using it much is it likely to have more problems or less than using it alot ?
£294 seems a bargain with RAC roadside aswell

Someone make my mind up for me!

Try a quote from Warrantywise, they cover everything and they were awesome when I used them, never questioned any claim that I made  :happy2:

Do these policies mean you can take the car to main dealers or just to indies?
Check also if you have to pay for repairs first then try to claim it back or if the companies have accounts with dealers so pay them direct

I had the Platinum policy with Warrantywise, so I could take it wherever I wanted to be fixed and they'd pay up to £150 an hour

did you have to pay the dealer then claim it back or did they pay the dealer direct?
