Give me your thoughts on the below situation, I think my alternator is on the blink :stupid: mate is going to look at it but can't do it til next week.
So I had my car at plush for the past 2 months and last week the battery died, the car had been turned over every day and moved small distances then on wednesday/thursday the car wouldn't start because the battery had gone flat and it wouldn't hold a charge so a new a new battery has been bought. I'm also getting a CO2 fault code on vagcom but I'm thinking that's not related? Will just need to find out which sensor it's coming from and sort it.
All was well until I was driving it home on sunday and for some reason the digital display between the clocks went out  Got in the car this morning and the display is working again!
No problems acceleration wise etc etc

doesn't soud like the alternator more like a bad connection with one of the wires on the battery--put a multi meter across the battery terimals when the car is ticking over

Ahh will look in to it more then. Just with them lights going after the battery had gone alternator was the first thing that came to mind and it would have been an excuse to do more with the engine!

Doesnt sound like alternator. Your battery would be flat as it wouldnt be charging if it was alternator. Isnt it supposed to read about 14 volts or somethig when putting multimeter across battery? or am i talking cr*p lol?

14 volts with engine running and alternator good, 12 volt with engine running and alternator bad :happy2:
