Title: Knocking Noise when lifting off
Post by: dubfordstyling on November 02, 2011, 12:11:28 pm
I have a 2005 GTi DSG and I am getting a bad knocking noise when I lift off the power.  It stops however when I apply the brake or accelerate.  It's definitely coming from around the front drivers side.  I jacked it up to see if the driveshaft was fouling the chassis and even raised the coilovers just in case but its still there.  It doesn't seem to be a CV joint as it only really happens in a straight line.  It is definitely drive related as the knocking gets quicker / slower dependant on what speed I'm travelling at.

Any Ideas??
