So i took a stroll to AMD essex to get a Revo stage 1 remap on the ED30 + ITG induction kit. Whilst i went away i got a phone call saying they will knock £100 if opted for there map. I was all like UMMMM UMMM as i really wanted to get Revo, i was told i have 30 days to take off the AMD map and go Revo pay the extra if i didnt feel the map was not how i wanted. So i took the plunge and went for it.
I know people bang on about there rollers being innacurate and you guys are proberly right as the car does not feel like 310hp quicker but heres the graph. I have come from a td04 270hp Starlet turbo that weighed 800kg so i know the power delivery will alot different.
The car feels faster, alot smoother however i still have REVO in the back of my mind only because of the feedback/results/graphs. I will keep it on for a week or 2 and see how it adapts.
Please comment/views/opinions

You need to show the rpm axis numbers on the bottom of that graph. :ashamed:
-
I will go back out the car to get it. Sorry for the stupidness but what would that show/prove ?
-
ignoring the figures as is wise with their dyno, just by looking at the power and torque, it looks very smooth. All the AMD maps ive seen have great curves and make good comparable figures tbh, just not quite what they quote.
-
To be fair to AMD. The 'before' results were pretty much bang on. :popcornsoda: :popcornsoda: :popcornsoda:
-
Its a shame they dont show boost. Every rolling road i had done on my starlet they would plumb in the boost hose to see if its holding/tailing off.
But i still want to try Revo lol!
-
revo wont get you any more figures than you will get at AMD. Id be happy TBH
-
I am happy to be honest, I will see the difference when i race a friend of a friends ed30 with just miltek cat back.
-
Your results are almost identical to what I got there however I went for the Revo... now it's made me think, how do I know which map they actually put on... :scared:

If you have access to a revo sps switch, try putting the anti theft switch on. It will only work if you have a revo map installed.
-
you got a graph mate ? I assumed this also how do you if they put Revo map or not ??
If you can put graph up we can look and spot maybe a difference ?

I thought about this but I don't have a switch and don't really want to buy one for the sole purpose of finding out!

Here's my graph.

Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly happy with the map I have and my receipt is for a Revo map, it's just the figures are very similar (but then again I guess they would be for a generic stage 1 map?).
(Also, sorry for hijacking your thread!)
-
I need to take a better photo of the graph
Not at all fella, good to compare/reviews!!
Oh yes very similiar!! I was only running 97ron esso petrol, goto go and put some shell power in her still!!
Hmmm now having doubts is it worth having the Revo map
-
Haha yep take another pic if you can and it'll be easier to compare!
Obviously at first glance yours seems more linear so I guess mine is the Revo map...
I also run on 97 Esso and have a Neuspeed P-flo intake.
Edit - I assume the reason why mine made 244 'standard' was because I had the intake fitted before both runs, although admittedly that seems a large gain for just an intake!
-
Yeah you can tell.

Stick with what you've got. It's not about big bhp figures. Totally pointless in a fwd car if you can't put the power down.
remind yourself, is £500 worth spending for maybe 5bhp or so more
Makes no difference on the road chap.
-
I think i will stick at it - happy with it for the moment. I believe that the DSG's are torque limited to 280ftlb. AMD should be able to remove this if i was to go Stage 2 right ?
-
Dsg cars are not torque limited, some remap company's offer a map that will limit the ammount of torque if you request it.
