Bloomin' heck!! that's crazy!
I could just as easily have an asthma attack at the wheel! Should I expect to loose my license?
-
Mmmm my auntie has it bad so it might affect her I think

I think the problem is having hypoglycaemic episodes - if you blackout, then you could probably injure other people. A bit like uncontrolled epilepsy. But the majority of people are stable and IMO should affect people having regular hypos.
But, as with all Euro guidelines these days, it's a bit OTT.

The EU strikes again....

The way i understand it is if you have any sort of hypo ? I could understand it if it was hypos that needed help from someone else to sort out but just a normal hypo where your blood drops to 3 say ? Thats just daft isnt it ? I hope i am wrong

I have bad Type 2 Diabetes. I have a Licence which I have to renew every 3 years with DVLA based on medical assessments! I drive with a bottle of Lucozade and Jaffascakes in my Car just in case I have a Hypo! Have also declared my Diabetes with my Insurance company too!

I have type one and its well controlled and i also have to re aply for my licence every three years, I also drive with lucozade in the car and i also test before i drive to make sure i am ok, i also get very good warnings of a hypo but from what i understand if you have two hypos in one year you will loose your liecence as ive been told to keep it you have to test at least twice a day and show all your results to your specialist. My point is who is going to have less than two hypos in a year and it also includes when your sleeping.

Less than 2 hypos a year... That's crazy!! I had 3 the other day at work alone!

People will either start lying to the specialists or have worse control to stop the hypos
