Title: Using long-life oil on time & distance
Post by: PND on November 04, 2011, 09:51:53 pm
Not sure if I'm imagining this, but did I read somewhere that VW once issued an advisory note recommending that long-life oil is to be used even if you're on time and distance servicing?

If so, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm off to the dealers tomorrow to book my car in for a T&D service and want them to use long-life oil without charging me more £s!

Cheers!

I think it's good practice to use the highest quality of oil available ( and don't let some half whit spanner monkey change your oil)

Cheers.  Last time, I specifically had to request long-life oil, but was just wondering if there was anything from VW that states that they should be using it?

I was led to believe by my local dealer that there had been a TSB recommending the use of LL oil for all servicing  :happy2:

Regardless of the service regime, the oil specified for the tsi/tfsi is long life.
