Title: Absolute Disaster
Post by: johnhol78 on November 05, 2011, 02:41:37 pm
Removed, stripped, cleaned my Fuel pump, new cam follower.....installed internals..

Got the pump back on and put the engine cover back and 'crack' The position the diagram shows on the Autotech instructions is wrong, instead of NE direction, my cover has a gap going NW.

Now the car starts....though no acceleration and Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve - Open Circuit - No communication....log.

Awesome.....now I'm screwed as TPS not open and no way of getting a new one.

Can someone tell me if the Valve can be bought separately? If so what am I looking at.

Thanks

There are a couple of guys with second hand pumps for sale in the classifieds for very little, around £30 iirc.

The Autotech pic of the sensor orientation is for an A4 engine layout.  I bet loads of people have done the same as you and will continue to until they amend the instructons. As a temp fix, rotate the sensor into the correct position and glue it back together.

Did as you said though won't fit exactly as before.....two pins come up from sensor into clip...these are in the connector though still won't rev over 4k (in neutral)

Had the cover off....MAF wouldn't could that would it?
