Title: Lowering the Mk5 Jetta....
Post by: P4ulo on November 06, 2011, 12:22:03 am
So.

We've had our Mk5 2007 Jetta TDI for a week,
and having just sold the last car I've got some dosh to play with.

I invested in some interesting rims last year, which I shall refurb shortly.
But, my attention has turned to lowering.

I have previously used GAZ coilovers, and am definately going to go with them again,
it's already in the pipeline.

But, what else do I need to consider?
Does the ARB foul if lowered on coils?
Is there anything else underneath I need to consider before winding it down or is everything else ok?

Thanks dudes,
any input appreciated......

Anyone with any advice?

There are tons of tasty lowered Mk5's on here,
I just want to know if I can just slap on the coilies, or if I'll have other mods to do???

For example.....I have a mk1 Caddy, I needed to notch the chassis on one side to make room for driveshaft on full drop-down.
For example.....a Mk4 Golf needs a mod to the front arb if going lower than 40mm....

Any examples that I need to prepare for before slapping this car with the lowering stick?
Thankyou my friends.

hey mate, ive just put mine on coilovers nad it was just a plug and play kit, i know you have to notch the chassis if you want to go silly low tho thats about as much as i know.... mines not silly low yet tho maybe ile run into more problems when i do screw it down
