Title: LED Glow
Post by: Zaf2616 on November 06, 2011, 12:38:11 am
Anyone experienced this with interior replaced LED bulbs?

Seems light there is some voltage running through them even though there not on, anyway to sort this out?

Cheers,

Zaf

You need to use canbus safe bulbs then they won't do this. Do they work ok when switched on?

Unless I'm being daft, the cambus dose not monitor your interior bulbs, so no need for "canbus friendly"

I thought that but it's the fact they have built in resistors I think. Maybe wrong.

Mike try this one on your phone

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=260779065862&cmd=VIDESC

No fault codes show on mine and I originally did think it was the fact they werent canbus so bought canbus ones but same thing

Mine seem to "glow" all the time an it's not intermittent, I'm thinking to change the fuse to a lower amperage as the LEDs use very little power, just dunno if it's a good idea? Anyone?

I have this is a reno but my Vw seems to get away with it. It's due to the low power required to start the led and the fact the apply is only single cut, and a noisy car body return. Using can friendly LEDs should help an probably cure the problem due to the bleed resistor around the led. You won't find them for the overhead but the footwell, glove lights are available

Wouldn't the overhead one be the same as the canbus number plate ones?

overhead cluster are 501 in the readling lights.  not sure about number plates? festoon?

the overheads are not on the can bus so have no bleed res.  the plate lights are can proved alight
