Not a dig or anything. It I see a lot of people fitting cables, USB chargers and alsorts so they can listen to or charge their iPhones etc
I bought a parrot mki9000 from eBay for £90 delivered, 30 mins to plug it all in and not only is it a handsfree carkit but you can play your iPhone through the car speakers via Bluetooth or there is a glovebox cable which you can play iPhone music, charge it or plug in a USB stick or 3.5mm jack for a normal mp3 player, magic!!!
:)

Some peoples gotta have OEM only, including me :innocent:
-
Does it give full tracklisting and all the other options? I may be tempted by that.
-
Ooooooo looks like things have moved on in the Parrot world I just looked at the MKi9200 so looks like something else for the Xmas list.
Yes Al track listing, full colour screen, phonebook download.
Looks very nice.

OEM functionality is better, even if it doesn't have as many features

I had a Parrot system installed in my Impreza and it worked perfectly every time.
That was 4 years ago so things must be even better now.

I have an ipod kit in the armrest... Have'nt got an iPod... :chicken:
-
Want to sell it ?????

The 9200 does look very cool, 9000 is nice tho and works well. Not sure how it would work with the mfsw tho if at all.

I have the MKi9200 (going for sale/swap soon for original VW) it is a GREAT bit of kit, as you said can do all sorts, mine also comes with iPod, 3.5mm Jack and USB so all this can be played through my speakers.
The only really problem with using this is -
1) Sound quality isn't as good
2) Gaps between songs - If they are too long the parrot will flip back to the HEad Unit for a split second and then back again
3) If driving can't switch playlists as easy as on the head unit
4) Nothing really beats OEM
5) Having an additional screen and controller to control instead of just 1 unit
Btw I have finally got around to fitting my iPod lead for my armrest adapter and the sound quality is so much better, keeps everything hidden.
Tbh both are a great bit of kit ;)

I have the ipod prep in the armrest of the Golf and while it's good, I prefer the AUX cable in the vRS as I can plug any mp3 player in to it, not really fussed about track lists, I just hit shuffle then play. :happy2:

My Ed30 has AUX socket in armrest altho its never likely to get used, unless we decide on a road trip to Ischgl in the Austrian alps again, in which case my mate will likely plug his MP3 into it.
Went 2 years back in my MK4 1.8T, had a good laugh driving over there. 3up with luggage and 3 snowboards on the roofrack and a nice stretch of unrestricted German autobahn at 3am, set cruise control at 125mph, was worried about going faster with snowboards on the roof :scared:
5 weeks tomorrow 8 of us are off to les Deux alpes on our first of 2 snowboard trips this season, second trip in feb to Ischgl again (3rd time been there, great nightlife :jumpmove: crawling out of pascha at 5am :happy2:

I have the parrot kit in my golf gives full track listings and is tucked away in the ash tray so you don't see it. It's a great bit of kit

@gulfstream11 Regarding the ipod in armrest, is that for a nano 2nd gen. I have been looking to try an ipods in it but I have only managed one, the most recent one and it's too small and doesn't have right connector. Some advice would be great.
Here is a pic from another post, https://skitch.com/clintonbeattie/f7qtt/preview
If anyone wants to sell me their old ipod that definitely works in this would be great ;-)
