I have reached that monumental stage in my GTi ownership - the 1st service has arrived!!! :drinking:
The car displays the in your face message, "Service Now!", on the MFD everytime I start the car.
VW tell me that this service only involves an oil+filter change and replacement of the drain plug+washer.
Is there anything else I should suggest/ask VW look at or do?
P.S. Car was on time and distance service interval...just clocked over 9300 miles.

Mine cost me £100, only thing i ensured was they used longlife oil in it (im on T&D)

Not really. You could ask to change the air filter (I changed mine after 12k and the difference is significant - I think I found my missing 8bhp) but it's a PITA to change so get them do it if you want.
Also make sure they don't aspirate the oil from the top. It's been known for some VW garages to stick a tube into the oil spout that you use to top up the oil and suck the oil out that way, rather than get the car up and drain it from the bottom.
EDIT: For the love of god make sure your screen wash is filled up - they charged me for it!

Presumably, they will drain the oil as they are changing the drain plug and washer.
Can't ask for them to change the air filter as I have a pipercross one which goes with the induction kit.
Not bothered about costs...I opted for the 30K or 3 year service plan for £200 up front.

A wise move. Once I get the £££ saved up, that frikkin cover is going in the bin! :angry015: :angry015: :angry015: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

I 've just had an Oil and Filter change cost me £117.50 plus the usual bits like new sump plug and a gasket and some more washer fluid etc.

It's been many moons since I had my first service...
