I have had a good look throught the topics which are informative but not definitive.
I have a RCD510, MFSW but no Highline.
I kinda settled on a Parrot MKi9200 as I was under the impression that because of no highline I can't have OEM Bluetooth.
Is that right? Will the RCD510 not display my contacts and not allow me to Bluetooth music over?
Is it because I need highline to get the pair code? I think I read that.
I would love OEM but not sure if I want to lash out for highline TBH but I would love to!
Thanks in advance.

The RCD510 can still have Bluetooth you just have to view contacts on the head unit screen and not the highline display so it will still work!
Not sure if you can do Bluetooth music across to the HD though?
I have an MKi9200 it's a gear great great piece of kit and has more capability then the OEM!
However I'm thinking of selling as I don't use any of the features such as iPod (one in my armrest), aux (one in my head unit) and USB as I have SD card slot in my headunit so to me it's pointless. If you have OEM one already let me know if you fancy a swap ;)

If you purchase the 7p6 035 730C you'll not need the highline and every thing will be controlled through the RNS510/RCD510 :happy2:

Thanks Darren, will I be able to stream music as well?
Have you any idea where I can get the OEM other than VW and do I need anything else? Cables, brackets etc etc?
Betty I would be interested if you were to sell as I don't have anything to swap.
-
Yes it will support A2DP bluetooth streaming.
Loads of sellers on eBay for the kit :happy2:
-
Thanks Steve probably this is my option then.
Looks like I have a cable for sale.
-
Complete kits are a bit pricey!
Maybe I will stick to the Parrot!
Some investigating is needed.
-
Also a lot of them are saying only compatible with white dot although that won't matter to me as no highline.
And does the end letter matter? I thought it was just a revision letter?

Slightly off topic, how much you looking to pay for a parrot (thinking of selling my MKi9200 for OEM) and what's the cheapest OEM one you've found?
Thanks!
-
Betty, I found just the bluetooth unit and foam bracket with no cables for £60 with no bids but then its cables etc.
The complete kits are £300 upwards.
No idea on the Parrot mate I would have to look how much new against second hand.
