As the title says really chaps, what would people say is the easiest way or reducing it or stopping it because its by far one of the worst I've experienced in any car. With it being wet it's proving to be very easy to spin the tyres up on the hill coming out my street, obviously I back off or the traction steps in to sort it out, but its limiting the car being able to put its power down in any of the lower gears even in the dry to some degree.
Any info would be much appreciated.

Whiteline Anti-Lift kit (WALK)

Needs moar ECS gearbox mount insert.
(or BSH or VF Engineering dogbone + inserts)
-
^^ Both did bugger all on my car....
The best way is change the way you use modulate the accelerator IMO!

A Quaife ATB differential is what you're after my man. :happy2:

Poly insert = better
Uprated lower mount + insert = better still
Full set of uprated mounts = eliminated.
It's caused by the engine and transmission rotating under torque, so the hop is the whole lot moving around on its mounts. An LSD won't cure it.
Yet to get 'hop' with my VF Engineering mount, doesn't mean it won't appear and catch me out though..

Cheers for all the info chaps, best get saving, will be an expensive summer

TBH I didn't get the improvement everyone else is reporting with the ECS insert, that's why I'm swapping to the full BSH setup. It's as Danza says, full set of mounts is what's really required (and ideally smaller wheels with thicker tyres) but the mounts will increase cabin vibration and harshness.

.... x2
But these other items do contribute to helping. Suspension can help too.
The Quaife won't eliminate it but it sure does jump on it very quickly and smoothly - Any judder feels much softer.
Dogbone engine mount is my next mod after sorting my Recaro Sports upholstery.

Cheers for all the info chaps, I'll see if it changes when going from the standard sp 1 to parada's when i get them back from the re-furb but 5'll certainly be investing in some uprated mounts and bushes :drinking:
-
i fitted the neuspeed torque arm insert and mine as virtually gone i thought it was bad before easy mod cost about £25 fit it yourself :happy2:
-
will eliminating wheel hop bring on other issues ?, for eg added vibration, added wear, cracking exhaust parts or more serious issues like popping drive shafts or shearing cogs ? , im not saying it does, just another slant on it as perhaps manufacturers left it for a reason

With beefier mounts, you're going to get harsher vibration - VW won't do that from standard as customers won't accept it, the GTI in their eyes is supposed to be refined.
You're less likely to break things such as you've mentioned, as there's less movement in the engine/transmission - if anything knackered, sloppy mounts cause failures elsewhere.
-
^^^^
Milltek include a free torque arm insert (Poly thingy!) with their exhaust to help protect the zorst mounts which also have been revised up front.
Gotta dash to Berks meet (that's not a meeting of berks!)

yeh i saw how Hurdys are stronger :jumpmove:

I fitted the ECS mount and I have not noticed any cabin vibrations or any side effects. for the cost its well worth it.
You dont even need a specialist/equip to do it.

as above really but with the neuspeed one , no vibration over the standard one and judder i had when pulling off has gone and the old one was nt faulty as my octavia before had the same judder when pulling away but never got round to fitting neuspeed to that :happy2:

i thought the clutch was faulty in my octavia mate it went back twice but thats how the tfsi unit is !!when i test drove gti s and ed 30 they are all the same the neuspeed torque arm insert solved the problem completely !
if you get one mate its worth ordering a new bolt from vw as the neuspeed one dont come with one !!
-
yeh i even took mine back to VW to get them to check it, they convinced me it was ok, and even let me out in the demonstrator to erm erm demonstrate it
