Any recommendations for some halogen bulbs?

Seem's to be 2 major challengers for the crown, either Osram nightbreakers or Philips blue vision/extreme........ I went for the Philips and am very impressed with the crisp white light and increased visability at night, especially when driving back from Cambridgeshire last night down country lanes and A roads :happy2:

Not tried the philips, but I have Ring Xenon Max in the Golf and they are far better than OE, compared them to Osrams and no difference. Price wise, the Ring are best value for money imo, under 15 quid from the bay!
-
To add a bit more confusion. Ive tried the Philips and Osram nightbreakers and prefer the Osram
To be honest your only going to find what you want by trying them all £££££££££££££
ps The Philips blue do look kind of cool

I put the Osrams on my dads C Class last year for him and i have to say they re excellent. I was just wondering if there were any others to look into for my Golf. I'm leaning towards the Philips Xtreme vision.. i want a slight xenon feel with them without the cheap blue tinge most give, especially duruing the day when the lights are off, the refection of the blue is terrible on some that i have seen. What do you think of these? - http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/cool-blue-intense-h7-two-bulbs

Actually looking back at the description they say only 20% more brighter, they might be a no no! lol

I've been asking myself the same question lately
I think I'm erring towards the Osrams myself. They're not any more expensive off Amazon. Ajay, from memory i think you're somewhere near me - if you got the Ring Xenonmax and I got the Osrams we could take side by side comparison shots. Might help the forum members make a decision. Lemme know what you think :happy2:

The Osrams are a good choice, as i said earlier they made a big difference to my dads Merc, the are really crystal clear. Where are you based sub39h? If we are close then it would be a good idea
-
well i live in Stoke but my parents live in Leeds so i'm back there often enough - i recall you saying you live in Yorkshire but i've now been working 15 days straight so my brain isn't in complete working order at the minute.
just thought a side by side comparison would help other members decide in future. i suppose the only issue is i don't drive a Golf and since i've had my car lowered the light pattern is a bit crap to begin with - i need my headights readjusting so the range is more OEM.
-
Yeah, i'm from Bradford so very close to leeds :) when your up next time and if we have the bulbs in by then, then i think it would be a good idea.. gives people a slight idea of what to expect. I'll get mine ordered tomorrow hopefully :jumpmove:

I went for the Osrams as i knew that they are a god bulb from previous experience and because when i took my dads car out lastnight down a country lane they were excellent. That ultimately made my mind up!

good choice :happy2:

put some nightbreakers in mine a few weeks ago and now with the dark nights, they are fantastic...high beam is almost redundant! going to get a set for my wife's a4 avant.
