RCD 510 if you're not fussed about sat nav and fancy a 6cd MP3 WMA changer

There's not always a HU that will go straight in. A lot of the 'fancy' units will require possible some coding and possibly a CANbus upgrade too, there are tons and tons of threads on the RNS510 and all it's revisions if you think that is something you want then do a search and you should find all the information you need ;)
Hope this helps!

Yeah as Betty02 says, it depends on your setup... i.e. if you have a multi-function steering wheel, you will most likely need it re-coded with VAS / VCDS to work with the new stereo, or if you have an earlier 05/06/07 year golf then there can be battery drain problems caused by the stereo wiring loom. My 2008 golf without steering wheel buttons worked great with my new RCD510, the only thing I had to add was this:-

I have just fitted an Avic-f9110bt and luv it. It looks like a standard fit, bolts straight in with no reprogram to the can bus and does everything. the bluetooth even works with my iphone 4 :happy2:
Here is the link:

I picked mine up from ebay for £220 delivered, which i think is a bit of a bargain.

It doesn't take any effort to spell words correctly, we are not in da ghetto now breadbin!!!
As far as I'm aware there is no straight swap to an after market stereo, although it's not hard to run a switched live to the fuse box, took me 10 minutes, you don't need to be a rocket scientist. :signLOL:

Sorry, I didn't mean to upset the spelling police... :signLOL:
Anyhow, the pioneer mentioned above is designed as a direct replacement so no wiring is involved. It comes with an adaptor that converts the canbus signal so the stereo can understand it.
