Don't supose you have come across the new EA888 one on your travels too?
Im guessing its probably out somewere as iirc the Americans have had this engine in there GTI for about a year now were we have had to wait for it in the scirocco & mk6.

Late model Mk5 GTIs had the EA888 engine rebadged as TSI IIRC.

didn't think the EA888 ever made it into the Mk5 engine bay???

thought it was released into Audi's first, and other VW models but not Mk5 GTI?

What is a 2.0 TSI EA888 - for the benefit of us lesser humans..?

it replaces the 2.0T FSI motor (BWA etc) VAG was using for GTI 200ps, Leon FR, A3 2.0T, Octavia vRS etc.

It has 207ps rather than 200ps, is more fuel efficient, different fuel pump, back to cam chain rather than rubber belt i think that's easier to maintain, and host of other differences.
