Hi everybody!
I have installed a RNS MFD2 navi on my car, but the compass is showing wrong directions. I understood that there is a sensor somewhere in the car that give this information to the navi unit, but where?
Second issue: is the GPS module integrated in the navi unit or is separated somewhere on the antenna cable?
Any advice or ideas?
Thanks in advance

Evening
If this is a new install , ie no sat nav unit fitted before ,you need to fit a gps aerial at the same time
This just plugs into the back of the radio like the radio antena
Have you fitted this reciever , and mounted it to a metal earthed surface , if you are working with a hidden antena , or you can fit a external aerial if you like on the roof

Thanks Robert.
So, you´re saying that there is no sensor for the compass, but the GPS module (not included)? But how the navi unit know where the front of the car is without such a sensor?
Maybe a stupid question......but I don´t get it!

Their is no gps antena pre installed within this unit
You will have to purchace a gps antena
This unit needs to face the sky
The unit fonds your gps location from the satelites and also uses the info from your cars abs unit to work out your Direction of travel and vechile speed etc
Is it ebay for a rns2 gps antena ?

I still have to disassemble the GPS antenna cable from the old car to mount it on the new one. So, if there is a separate GPS module, I will find it.
I hope you´re right mate.
Thanks again.

evening
if you are taking the unit out of a car with OE installed RNS2 satalite navigation, and the car has a roof aerial , you may find the gps unit is built into the aerial on the car
a aftermarket gps antena looks like this
