Got a 55 plate GTI
Had a full service in January (57k miles), I've only done about 4.2k miles since.
Should i bother getting it serviced again next Jan?

service intervals for older high performance cars are arond every 5-6k miles mate, but tbh i would say service it every year as an fault or problem can come over whenever , i always service my car once a year no matter how many miles i do mate so would recommend it but it is totally up to you if you do it now or want to wait for a bit :happy2:

Many consumable items are classed as in need of replacement by a certain mileage OR time (cambelt 40k or 4 years for example). So i'd make sure (if you are on a time & distance 10k or 1 year regime) that you get the car serviced as per. As things get older they get more likely to fail or develop faults. So regular checks become more important.
If that was my car I'd get it serviced. :happy2:

Brake fluid change is every 2 years, coolant i think the same, cambelt is 60k or 4 years
If the above were done on last service i'd at least have an oil + filter change
Were the plugs and filters changed last time? these might be due as well?

Peace of mind if a professional looks at your car once a year in my mind....

My car is an Ed30 and I was told by VW on Tuesday that they recommend cambelt at 60K or 4 years (whichever is sooner) although after saying that they advised changing earlier, i said my car has just clicked onto 40K and will be 4y/o in May 2012 so thats when I will be getting it done as in that time I will likely only do another 2k anyway :innocent:
The car was serviced in May 2011 by VW so im happy until next year.

Thanks for replies
Car had a belt change at about 53k
I'm a bit skint so that was the reason for skipping a service
