im sure i have seen pictures of where to fit the boost pipe in the engine bay but done a search and cant find the ones i remember.
i got one of these: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=3784&xSec=153
it came with a kit inside to fit it, awesome gti assured me 3times it has everything i needed to fit, but im not so sure, the T-piece seems a little small...im sure i remember the pipe being quite thick that it has to go into?
Also does anyone have a "how-to" or some pictures of how to fit the kit so it comes on with my lights?
-
Not sure how to fit these but out of interest where are you going to be mounting it? offset steering column pod, driver side air vent or maybe ash tray?
Thanks
Dave

Ooooh is that new? never seen that on the website before when looking at gauges and pods..... think that looks much better than it taking up the whole ashtray and plug space :happy2:

awesome provided me this fitting with take offs for DV / boost guages etc...

I am however removing it and fitting one that goes on the right side of the inlet manifold like the Forge one of design42 one
Like the Forge one on BDM Alex Octy
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FMy_Leon_Cupra%2FMaintenance_and_Technical%2F19e193c7.jpg&hash=6d7eb87f347e46d1204633dd645a147fecd3a596)
I reckon the T piece will probably fit where mine curently is. Before you go chopping things see if you have or can have the 'no buzz fitting' my boost guage ticks and although i dont notice it anymore it would drive some people mental
***EDIT
Please ignoe the plasti tie holding on the ITG hose, although Im humiliated by it. The stainless jubilee was lost/broke at the dealer and its taken me 3weeks to get a replacement! :fighting:
-
im rocking a wee KO3, in the 1st picture i think i have those pipes but not the smaller ones, let me take a picture of what i have and see if you can circle where to cut!
-
You want Me to advise on cutting things on your car :scared: Okidoke
IMO no cutting is better and advise on one that taps off your inlet manifold

oh dont worry i wont take your word for it, i have seen the state of your dash :signLOL:
What part would i need to run it from the inlet?
-
The forge kit I have is this;
[pdf]http://www.forgemotorsport.com/media/FMBGFK.pdf[/pdf]
The one from the inlet is this;
http://www.kmdtuning.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1476 (http://www.kmdtuning.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1476)
I think the T piece you have would fit in the same place as mine and you do have the same pipe that is spliced into on my car.
Aghem*
and my dash is back together and looking good :P

The 42dd one;

They certainly look the part, and would stop me cutting the pipe, apart from this are there any other benefits?
If i cut that thick pipe i think the diameter of the internal pipe will but larger than the t piece i have? Or is it just a really thick pipe?
-
I will see if it can dismantle mine now and see how thick the pipe is.
-
Pitch black already :scared: Where has today gone!
It is quite thick pipe.

so i must need some kind of reducer?
http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=27508&xSec=153
wanted to buy this and he said i didnt need it:
http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=6780&xSec=153
Annoyed now as i wanted to fit it! and awesome are although close still 1/2 a tank of fuel away.
-
The same part them two.
Benefit of the one I have is multiple ports so you can fit Forge DV too.
If the no buzz one works its worth a tenner as I say it will tick away otherwise.
It was said to me keeping the vacuum hosing as long as possible helps reduce the buzz / ticking
-
i was told that, don't cut the hose just wind it up and it wont tick. :chicken:
i wonder if thats the only place i can get boost reading from....
