Hi Guys,
I bought my March 2007 GTI in March this year, majority of the history (longlife servicing) has at VW but last couple were minors (one inc Cambelt) at independants.
Car is telling me a service is required in the next 300 miles.
Guess I need a major service? What should I expect to pay at an independant and how much at the stealers?
Have seen the fixed price service offer at VW but my MOT is out of sync with servicing so I would only be able to use one of the MOT's in the 2 year package.
All recommendations welcome.

I paid £249 at the dealers for a major service on the fixed price menu, i don't think an indy will be that much cheaper?

I think you are right matey, only concern is the dealers tend to 'find' more areas that need seeing to.

I paid less than half that for my last service. Oil, 4 spark plugs and filters (except air filter)

I paid £169 inc vat for Oil, Oil filter, and brake fluid change at a trusted independent.
