Title: Can I retrofit the mk5 R32 speakers to my Mk5 fsi match?
Post by: ripmateyy on November 21, 2011, 09:07:00 am
I know someone selling the 3 way front door speakers from a Mk5 R32. Was wondering is one it could be easily done and two if it would be worth doing?!

Thanks

Jack

Hi

I did this for someone not long ago

You will need to change the wiring and add the crossover units to each front door

you will ned to remove the outer door skins to change the door wiring loom.  its not bad to do though.

the only thing the factory loom gives you is the crossover and mid cabling.  i would say its far easier to rewire the door speakers with the crossover that will comw with whatever you decide to buy.  i did what you suggested and now im building a patch cable to interface the rainbow crossovers to the door wiring.  i would have neeb easier to go with rainbow first.  that and factory speakers are sh*teeeee
