hi guys,
just got a text from a company called PDCS - a google search comes up as it being a company called "Past Due Credit Solutions", a company used by e.on apparently.
i don't have any debt with anyone (with the exception of my student loan and some money i owe my parents), don't even have a credit card. the only thing close was last year e.on thought i owed them some money for a flat i rented, but the period was from before i moved in and this was clarified with them and i've since not heard anything about it.
the text says i should call the number and quote a reference. should i bother? the text is addressed to me but i'm not calling a premium rate number from my mobile to settle an issue i've already settled when i don't owe them any money in the first place.

I'd ignore it mate - sounds like a load of cobblers.
If they genuinely thought you owed them money and needed to get in touch with you they should call you! Then you can tell them they've made an error and to do one!!!

Spurious phishing attempt, in my opinion.

What he said, I know dept agencies have started this line of contact but for you to start using your own money to contact them back, they must be living on another planet :fighting:
Wait until they contact you by phone then sort it out by going over what you did with e.on :happy2:

My advice would be all of the above.
I have had some dealings with these clowns, they will hound you for a couple of weeks but you have to demand they prove you owe the debt. In the case of my friend he bought a house and was being chased for a debt of £2k that the previous owner had not paid. After a couple of letters and SAR (Subject Access Request) requesting all information held by e.on relating to all my friends history with them they agreed that he did not owe them anything.

Ignore it mate, :happy2:
Ive just had my 5th phone call by scammers in India (i think) :fighting2:
telling me I had a problem with my computer.
I had this guy on the phone for 44minutes before he put the phone down on me  He told me I had to switch the computer on first. (Whatever....I was watching Morse for crying out loud and I wasn't getting up for no one)
All the time I had been talking to him in a reaaaalllllyyyy slow (bit retarded) voice. :ashamed:
I told him it wasn't starting up and that I was gonna restart it. So with the phone on loudspeaker, I watched another 5-10mins of Morse.
He asked if it had started, I said no, not yet. He asked again 5mins later, I said no, not yet.
He asked again after another 5mins of Morse, to which I slowly said, I would restart it again, but on screen it just keeps saying windows is starting up.
So again he asked after another 5mins or so. I then said to him in a close to crying voice "have you broken my computer? it was fine yesterday, then you ring saying somethings wrong"
He said "No sir, our records say you have a problem but we didn't cause it"
 I then began to scream and shout and cry down the phone "YOU HAVE BROKEN MY COMPUTER....WHY DID YOU BREAK IT?....I HAVENT DONE ANYTHING TO YOU" :signLOL:
He was stunned and rambling lots of apologies and excuses. He finally put the phone down when I cried "I DONT WANT TO LIVE ANYMORE, WITHOUT MY COMPUTER....WHY, WHY, WHY"
....see if they call back tomorrow. :popcornsoda:

Excellent way of answering.

IN our house the way we deal with them is by asking who is calling, saying you will get the person and then promptly leave the phone on hold, go back 10 mins later to see if still holding :P
-
haha like some of the suggestions. either way i'll wait for them to contact me properly
cheers guys!

Either that or text them back telling them you died last year

Phone up to the smoke detector and hit test button. We were getting alot of cold calls/phishing/scam phone calls. Strangely, this has stopped them dead. must of been the same group of scammers. :booty:
