Title: MK4 engine into MK5
Post by: barratt on December 02, 2011, 03:11:23 pm
Right so, I was talking to a relative who has a MK4 PD130 engine spare. I was talking about taking mine to the next level as my car is already mapped to its limit.

Basically, he said he could put the MK4 PD130 engine into my car (I have a 2008 MK5 1.9 105). I have no idea about how the hell the clocks and electronics and all that would work with that engine, but apparently it's possible.

Does all of this sound possible? I'm wondering if anyone else has done this or heard of it been done. I tried googling and couldn't find anything!

I would leave your engine in and swap over the turbo and injectors.

Or buy an engine from the mk5 140 or 170...

or buy a different car and save all the grief

I was thinking of saying to do that to him. I was interested in swapping for the sake of the 6spd box though (my current gearbox has a f*cked mount on the passenger side, car was in a smash)

The turbo at a guess also wont be a straight swap either!
