Title: Grinding Noise
Post by: rsreid2000 on December 05, 2011, 04:41:57 pm
Driving home today and all I can describe is a grinding noise coming from the car. Stopped and looked underneath and nothing is there. The noise is there when you pull off and the more revs you give it the noise disappears. If you trickle the gas the 'grinding noise' is there. When I pulled up to reverse up the path the steering seemed really heavy as tho the power steering had gone. But when I parked the steering was really light and seemed ok. No warning lights are on.

Phoned the garage as the car is under warranty and they can't look at it until thursday and cannot advise if it is ok to drive.
Anyone got any ideas what it is or if it's safe to drive.

Been out tonight and it's more of a rattle between 1.5 and 3000 revs.
Car pulls as it should and drives fine, it's just the rattle.

UPDATE

Car has been in the dealers all day.
The FLYWHEEL has gone.
Very worrying as it only has 7,000 miles on it.
Luckily it's under warranty.

Have you had it changed 7k miles ago, or has the car only done 7k in total.....
