Oh dear, not good.
They went into administration Circa March 2009 time and stopped manufacturing for abit. Only just started to see the new models on road again in the last few months.
-
I remember reading about this back then, they hadnt sold a SAAB car for the whole of Feburary, I think it was, and were offering 30% off new cars
-
They have been in trouble for ages.Another MG Rover saga.
-
To be fair they haven't produced a good car for many years, so it's hardly a surprise.
-
.
This is just SAAB UK isn't it? An independent UK hub and not the parent company. It's the same as if VW UK went bust - Nothing much to do with VAG and replaceable.
Saab car products haven't really been competitive commercially for years anyway - Audi and even Volvo have seen to that. Saabs aren't very attractive. In my opinion!
-
I would still love an old 900 Carlsson

Named after the famous Saab rally driver and his red car being the subject which I sold my first ever oil painting of back in the day.
But that black Saab reminds me of a 1950's bus! Or a Thames Trader truck etc? I admit though that that particular model is probably their best looking and helped by being in black.
in my opinion
-
Yeah, I guess it's unassuming looks are why it appeals to me.
-
my mate has one of those massive saab enthusiast, he said parts were getting hard to come by
-
Saab of late look hideous.... they are a totally design catastrophe.
-
vauxhall with an expensive badge.

bit harsh. i was quite fond of their cars. the 9-3 was a good looking car before the facelift, and the new 9-5 was quite good looking. they're probably no more dull to drive than VWs or Audis are either.
such a shame. this will mark the end of Saab i think. if a whole market has rejected the company others will follow suit. only saving grace is at least we're RHD so if they stop selling cars in the UK they can save on development and tooling costs until they (hopefully) build their company back up again.

When i passed my driving test my dad said don't crash into a saab or volvo as they are build like tanks,so I go and crash into a saab 99 it broke his indicator but it wrote off my mk2 escort :signLOL:

.... And exactly why it doesn't appeal to me :happy2:

...."bit harsh"? It's only my opinion (as already posted).
In comparing the drive feel between Saabs and Audis and VWs, they would need to be comparable models with same engine size etc.

Lol I know it's just an opinion. Not having a go!
