Has anyone ever wrapped the plastic which goes around the gear stick right into the back in say something like alcantara leather

But from your description I think some folks here have. You may have to wait until this evening when more folks are online here to get a fuller response.
Isn't alcantara a cloth rather than a leather? Or are you wanting Llama skin soaked in Yak's urine? - In which case, no-one has done that yet and so you could set a trend and be the first! :evilgrin:

I think there was a guy on here who did similar with his Eos, but in red leather, it looked well and oem

Not certain which part you mean, but my plastic part around the gear gaitor is wrapped in grey alcantara, as is my airride gauges and the dash console, will sort pics tomorrow to show you. :smiley:
