My wife's after a new car, ( which i will get to drive) we have a budget of 11k, what would you guys go for, she did have a mk1 Audi TT, and would like a MK 2, but anything else I should consider,
Thanks in advance.

Why not get an edition 30  http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,34874.0.html (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,34874.0.html)
Doubt youll be able to get a mk2 TT for 11k though. What does she/you fancy? Something sporty, Practical, coupe, hatch etc etc
If it were me with 11k to spend on a second car I would be tossing a coin between these two

2 lovely cars but the road tax would be a bit steep, i was surprised that the mk2 TT are just coming in around that mark with slightly higher mileage 70000-90000 miles but my wife will do no more than 3000 a year so with time it will catch up.
As for the edition 30 id love one but she don't.

You can pick these up for circa 11k now.
Good wifey car and also a great summer drive car & 4 wheel drive - perfect

well its got to be sporty and id prefer a coupe, but she wants a roadster, i just didn't want to overlook anything, have thought of the Z4 and boxster and S2000, BMW 1 series looks interesting.

I wouldn't get too hung up on road tax, surely if you are spending 11k on a car a few quid a week extra on road tax aint the end of the world??

What about an Alfa Brera?

+1 in that I was thinking a 2.5/3.0 Z4 Sport in cab' guise, can get them for well under £10k?
And 3.0si coupes smidgen over 11k?

That's a great call. A car for all seasons, and if only doing 3000 miles a year, fuel consumption doesn't come into it. 4.2 V8 S4. That would be my choice. I'd get one now if I didn't do my mileage.

This caught my eye, the things people do to sell a car!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-AUDI-S4-QUATTRO-CABRIOLET-SILVER-SPORTS-EXHUAST-/290642270627?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item43aba119a3#ht_620wt_1413

This caught my eye
I wonder why?
Check out the Z4 as a marginally more affordable/economical alternative, although it won't have the power of the S4 even with the 3.0si.
However, can't fault the S4 Quattro as the answer to your original post really IMO, all things considered :happy2:
-
Christ, I'd love to know what the neighbours thought of that!
-
Thanks for your replies guys, my wife really wants a TT so looking at 3.2 V6 Roadster, if anybody has any advice on these car's, please feel free. :driver:
-
Haha, not concerned about the road tax anymore?
Personally I'd go for the 2.0T, the V6 has a pretty poor rep.

personally id prefer a 2.0T coupe, but as my wife has told me, its her car and she will be driving it more.(and paying for the road tax) and yes i am just a weak man who does what he is told.
anything directly that it has a poor rep on?
-
Handling in comparison to the 2.0T, and obviously thirst.
Is it MK1 or MK2?
-
MK2 she had a MK1 225 coupe and loved it, this time she fancied a roadster.
-
mk2 v6 residuals are poor but obviously not an issue second hand. Get one with xenons and bose. Im pretty sure they all come with xenons as std anyway. Heated seats are also as must, plus sat nav.
Nice soundtrack, not fast but should be more than quick enough for her to potter around in.
Little dings and dents can get pretty expensive to fix on the mk2 due to the front end being aluminum.
Heres mine and my mates

3.2 V6 S-tronic, Phantom Black, Full Leather, Xenons, Bose, Heated Seats, Parking Sensors, MFSW, Ipod Dock, Bluetooth.
I think we got a good one, even has 18 month warranty.

looks like a nice clean straight car :happy2: good find
