Title: Clicking noise on MK5 GT TDI?
Post by: AjayB on December 08, 2011, 11:35:07 pm
Ive noticed a clicking noise from passenger side, seems to be coming from the dash area, only occurs when the ignition is ON and when the car is fully up and running? It used to be rather inconsistent happening randomly but mostly when the engine was cold, now it seems to be always there? any ideas guys..

It does it when the Climate is all off as well mate. It's really annoying me tbh, have to put the music on louder sometimes to stop myself listening out for it

GT TDI Golf's have a unusually loud fuel pump. I though my car had something wrong with it as well when I heard this but it is just the fuel pump. If you open the bonet and listen for it you'll find the noise comes from there.

HTH  :happy2:

This is basically the climate control flap motor sticking. Mine made this noise for about a year until the error showed up in VCDS mate. If it doesnt affect your temperature then it should be ok. Mine stopped blowing hot air after a year with this noise until i chagned the flap motor and no more clicking in ignition :)
