Car was parked up and wife was in work. The woman came and told the wife but as it was dark then she couldn't see the damage (how I don't know!!) till today when it was light.

Just waiting to get hold of the other bint to get her details and then can get the car away to be fixed.

Hopefully can get it back before the 19th as we go away for Xmas.

But joking apart, I feel gutted for you. Your car has always looked extremely well looked after whenever I've seen it.

Vinyl wrap in day-glo orange? Er... No... The silly cow still wouldn't have seen your car!

The quicker you can get it repaired the quicker it will be forgotten.

It amazes me how people can miss huge objects like cars, walls, lampposts etc. I feel your anguish Carl. I can't fully tell from the pics if it will need any new parts?
Title: Re: Not F***ing Happy

I'm no guru at car repairs but looking at it I would say it definitely needs a new wing as it is kinked outwards above the wheel. But they can do all sorts these days so a panel beater may be able to sort it. Not sure which would be the more economical of the 2.

It may also need a new bumper depending on if it will reform once detached from the wing.

Just been out in it to take the wife to the hairdressers (something wrong here as I'm sure it's me who should be getting treated ) and there is something up with the front parking sensor as it alarms permanently on that front corner as if I'm too close to an object and the OPS shows it as that corner on the RNS. Maybe just a dodgy connection as I couldn't see anything wrong with it from visual inspection.

Just pissed off as I'm always careful when manoeuvring. I don't even rely solely on the Parking Sensors. It does amaze me how people hit stationary objects!!

Sorry to hear about your wheels man.

I remember the pain when some moronic woman let her full shopping trolley run down an incline into my beautiful Indigo pearlescent V64Motion.

I didn't feel as bad as this even when my ex announced it was all over.

Feel gutted for you Carl, hope it gets sorted quickly for you,

I remember this time last year driving home and some bint side swiped me in a merc slk :fighting: no indication just straight over pushed me into the kurb trashed both front wheels and drivers wing!! Luckily didn't catch the xenon headlight? She just got out and said sorry i didn't see you? WOW all forgotten now.

Chin up mate

Stooooopid bint!!!!!

It still amazes me that she "Didn't see it". Maybe with it being the Assassin it was in Stealth mode at the time

All going good so far. I phoned her insurance company today and they will get the garage to contact me on Monday to see what day they can get it in. Just got to hope it is back by the 19th or i aint going pop norf for xmas.  :sad1: Another bonus is, after some advice from a friend, was i asked for a like for like courtesy car (i.e an estate) which they said no problem to. They will even get it dropped off when they collect.

I s'pose that's a result.  If the Assassin was in stealth mode, then to be fair on the bint, that's probably why she hit it!!

Exact same spot as mine mate and had to have a new front bumper too. I was sat waiting for a space to become free in a car park and this women just started reversing out next to me. It was like slow motion and I couldn't get it into reverse and then she tried to say i had come into the car park the wrong way!  Then it took about 8 weeks for a new wing to come from Audi so it was really frustrating driving round in it...needless to say it was un-loved for the 3 months it took to fix. Hope you get it done fast mate.

Update,

Car goes in today. Getting a new Wing, Wheel and they have a Front Bumper just in case when they take it off to do the wing it is damaged too much to go back on. When they came to assess it the guy reckoned it would probably just go back to original shape with it being plastic and the wing/wheel taking the brunt of the impact.

They have said they will try and get the car back to me by Friday but no guarantee. I'd be surprised if they did and i've told them not to rush it. I would rather go up north a couple of days later than planned with the car done properly than them rush it and do a bodge job.

Hi Carl,

If you remember I had almost exactly the same damage on my car, the day I set off to Revo Headquarters.  :sad1:

It was when I won the Revo competition at GTI International

Anyway, that too was not my fault. A guy simply changed his mind at the last second and bumped into me. He was gonna turn left into the road I was leaving, and at the last second thought he could change his mind.  :jumping:

I got the car all repaired in 1 week and had a new wing, complete Full front bumper with splitter and a new grille. The paint was just fantastic too!
At first they said they would just repair the bumper damage, but I insisted I wanted a new bumper.
The Main guy at Brooklands was great! He told me he would just order all new components and get the job done asap. I was well happy. The old bumper and grill had quite a few stone chips which got right on my tits.

Only problem I had at all, was with my insurance. Elephant

First they conned me with the excess. (I was duped, but I must admit, I didn't go through my policy details with a microscope though)  :ashamed:
I thought my excess was £300 as this is what I set online when I was getting a quote. Little did I know I was gonna get charged £300 voluntary excess and then £500 compulsory excess. All together £800

They wanted this £800 up front before any work was done, but they told me I would get it back as it was a non-fault bump.

I paid it. Got the work done and the car back in 7days. The Insurance then told me that the other party had admitted Full liability…. so I was happy.

Well I had the bump in July 2010.
I eventually got my excess of £800 back, through a solicitor, after threatening court. I got this cheque 3wks ago   :surprised:
Only took 18months  :booty:

Im now with SKY Insurance….which are just Amazing!!! :pomppomp:

I hope all goes well with your repairs Carl, and I hope you are as Happy as I was when I got my car back.

Its hard not to worry though, when someone else is messing with you pride n joy. I was Brickin it, lol. Just don't accept 99% near-enough work. Not that you would anyway.
Let us know when its done mate! Good Luck!

Which why I've always gone for no excess where possible. Had £250 compulsory as new driver and another £250 for under 25. At the mo with Sky Insurance, I think it's a £250-300 compulsory but no voluntary (need to go check).

Strange you had to pay the excess in the first place monte. They didn't ask me for squat but I can relate to being apprehensive when it was in the body shop. They did a great job on the paint but forgot to put part of the inner wing back, replaced the door card with about a dozen clips missing and trapped the spring on the door lock. They did sort it (and the technician got a rollicking...apparently) but it shows a lack of attention to detail that is all too common nowadays.
