It's a 'c' version and you will have to update your can gateway as this RNS510 will drain your battery as well!

Jonm,

Where have you found the RNS510 you have listed?

I stress the importance of being careful when buying an RNS510. A huge number have been messed around (hardware wise) due to them being stolen.

I'd recommend buying off a reliable long standing member on here if possible, at least you know where its come from and can ask a few questions.

I have a version B which I may be tempted to sell if you are interested.

Hope im not highjacking the thread but what members on here sell RNS 510's and either fit them or could point us in the right direction. Im struggling to find good info ebay has a few but from what im readin it seems I need to pay attention to whom I buy them from.  I also want to get the MDI kit and bluetooth kit, must say Im thinking of getting an aftermarket unit if this proves to be too much hassle.....

Software is software, its easy to crack if you have the right tools so that wouldn't be a problem... but this one was off ebay but due to the price he was asking which I might add was far less than those listed on here I decided to pick a cheaper one up from ebay...

Remember just because a member on here is selling something this alone does not mean they are reliable (no offense to the ones who are) as I have bought things from a member on here in the past and after weeks of no communication I had to travel to get the goods I paid for after tracking their address down...

So it doesn't matter where you buy it from... lowest price & best condition guarantees a sale in my eyes

There are a few members on here who are selling a unit but I’ve found them priced higher than the ones on eBay… one reason I opted for eBay… Just check their feedback and get a mobile number so you can speak with them.. always use paypal then your covered.

I found it to be a simple process.. mines in the post now..

Watch what your doing on ebay the cheap C version are not actually LED versions...which is why they are cheaper  Looking on ebay you may pick a C LED version up for maybe £480 at the cheapest then you need to pay the silly postage fee's, I cut all this out

C LED = £500 posted or fitted
F LED = £600 posted or fitted
Audi A3 G version gloss black surround = £500 posted

Another thing to bear in mind, is the sellers on ebay list the UK as there country but the parcels come from the baltic states.
I fitted one for a chap near me and it was faulty, he sent it back and they sent him another one which was fine apart from not having a map on the HDD.

btw, my one is still for sale

I can do C version and F version, I can get hold of the bluetooth kits but depends on what you want and what your car has in the way of integration of the bluetooth i.e highline computer or midline?? I can also get the MDI and fit it all.

TPMS is the tyre pressure monitoring system and checks the tyre pressure by way of the ABS and wheel rotation.

Why I'm selling is the same has any seller on ebay?? although my main aim is to help try and get a bit of money off for the guys on the forums, even if its cutting the middle men out and saving the postage costs.

Yes that search was a simply one but I was just trying to show you some of the guys I have done stuff for.  I don't own a company I do this on the side.

Firstly an apology.

I didn't realise what you were showing me! I must commend you!  :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

I love VW's and I watched your build post and was stunned at your work! You do this on the side!!?? You'd really go places with your own premises! GO FOR IT!

I believe I've got TPMS not sure.  How would I know (haven't picked car yet as I'm too busy).  I think I've got high line when I get the car I'll post a picture to you.

So to confirm I'd want RNS510, MFSW, MDI and BLUETOOTH.  I'd like the F version please. I'm Being greedy now but I'd also like a leather armrest with vents  fitted. Don't Know if you can fit that but going by your work and feedback I thought I'd try.

How much would you want for all your work may I PM you? Where are you based? I did see it in one of your posts is it near Leeds?

ETA Do you work with "EDDIE-NL" you were mentioned together (favourably) in posts.

Here's hoping jonm doesn't end up with a rebadged A version with 2760 FW on it!

The whole RNS-510 industry is so corrupt it's not true. There's a ton of scary stories on gpsunderground.com and VWNavi.com.

Darren, by the way, I fitted that 7P6 BT module and works a treat. I'll be doing a post on it to spread the news when I get time. Can't seem to change the track from the RNS-510 though over A2DP. Not sure if thats the RNS or module though.

With certain suppliers yes, particularly when they have little to answer for post-sale. However having bought one unit from Mortygttdi I can recommend him.

Think logically for a second about buying off a forum (maybe this needs to be made a stick in the for sale section about sensible buying lol)

1) You can safeguard your money by paying via PayPal (same on eBay)
2) You can raise post-sale queries and often obtain a contact number from the seller (better than eBay)
3) Certain forum members have racked up a significant post count from spending a fair few years actively involving themselves in the community, they are risking this by selling you a dojy item, whether it be an RNS-510 or a Swedish Penis Enlarger.

If you bought an RNS-510 off somebody on eBay and it went wrong 6 months after you've left feedback and paid on PayPal you have practically no come back.

Just be sensible when buying from a member of a forum with less than 100 or so post count, or that hasn't been a member for a while.
