Title: Which oil should I use..
Post by: wisebuddah on December 11, 2011, 10:00:26 am: Morning all, I'm due to top up the engine oil on my 06 Mk5 GTI today..any recommendations as to what oil I should use?

Preferably Castrol Edge or a similar high quality oil.

Post by: Viking on December 11, 2011, 02:54:10 pm: Correct spec is VW504/507 and as said 5w 30 weight. Not all 5w 30 oil is the correct spec though, so look for the VW504/507.

Castrol is pretty poor really, as their full synthetic is not quite as full synthetic as other major manufacturers. :innocent:

Quantum is only VW504/507 certified. Unless they haven't started putting it on the bottle yet....
