As the title really.
The plugs were changed this week and the ones that came out looked to have more carbon on them than i was expecting. Possibly running rich? They may be totally normal but i thought id call on the experience of the forum
They have covered 13k in total.
9k at standard
4k at stage 2+
Not a drop of oil used either
Appologies for the poor photo i couldnt get the camera to focus close enough.

What does the electrode look like? Can't quite make it out in the pic?
-
Safer to run rich than lean on stage 2+. I wouldnt be too worried
-
True! I will try and get a better photo . . . .
-
Looks like it's running too rich...
-
They do tend to run rich anyway especially with hpfp and cold weather and small trips? it's running lean I'd worry about, and with no obvious smoke/exhaust smell, and no loss of performance I'm sure all is well.

A couple more pics. Taken with a nasty camera

haha they don't help much but look lovely! light brown/white and missing pieces of electrode are what you dont want, also you don't want really wet looking plugs.

Yep i do short trips. With the intake on im confident the settings are good as it was set up on the rollers by PDT.
B9 T6 F4
I put the standard airbox on for approx 1k after a dealer service and changed the settings to B7 T5 F6. I think its this period it must have been running rich. It still felt very strong though and i didnt feel much drop in performance.
The exhaust stinks but it has no CAT so thats to be expected
-
Have you tried logging your actual and requested lambda ?
-
I agree and noticed that after fitting my intake my car tends to run richer, my fuel economy certainly went even worse. Your running so much power that the engine always has a high fuel demand. On a small trip the ecu doesn't have enough time to auto adjust and dumps what it doesn't need out the back.
If it helps my plugs looked pretty similar when they were changed
-
Thanks SteveyD thats helped a lot.
I have vagcom but cant figure it out. It would not work at all on my last laptop and i cant work out how to log with the new one and there is limited chanels available as well. It worked fine for the guy who i bought it off
