I have been told that all my parts are sitting in UK customs, have you any idea what happens next? Do i do anything or just wait? Thanks, Stevie. :drinking:
-
Whenever I imported any Harley parts they are sent to your home address....eventually!!!
-
Bsh bits?
-
WINtake?

Have you received a letter from parcelforce yet? It will contain all the info you need in the letter and the customs charge that needs to be paid before they release the parcel to you.
-
If its FedEx they'll deliver it and pay the customs fee for you then send you an invoice for the customs bill , bit quicker
-
They arrived monday, no letter yet. Lets hope its fedex or it sounds like it could be a bit of a wait. Definately not BSH parts, USP parts. Thanks.

You smuggling Badgers into the country again Tommy?! :xmaspresent:

I get a lot of stuff in from the states and make sure that they put my number on the waybill. This way the courier can call me and I can pay the import duty/vat immediately and get my delivery within 24 hours of it arriving in the UK.
-
How much do customs charges or import tax whatever it is cost?
Been after a watch for a while but the one I want is twice the cost in the UK.

....vat @ 20% usually. Plus any other costs they think they can get away with such as handling £8 (the last time I had to pay).

Need to remember that one, bit of a learning curve. Cheers.

Watches are zero import duty rated so just the 20% vat to pay customs. Usually the courier company pay the vat for you and charge you for that amount and a handling fee on top.
Items other than watches may have an import duty rating of more than zero % though, so best to check first.

VAT at 20% plus either £8 if sent 1st class mail or Priority mail or £13.50 if sent express mail or its oversized package.
I order every 2 weeks from USA and its been like that for a while now.
Best to check tracking details, find who has it (likely parcelforce if sent USPS mail) call them give the tracking number (or postcode fr your house if you dont have it) and pay over phhone for next day deliverey, dont pay for saturday delivery (costs an Extra £12) as parcelforce as that busy currently they are trying to clear parcels and WILL deliver on saturday if they have it, I paid customs charges twice on fridays in last 2 weeks and BOTH delivered saturday and I did not elect to pay the charge when they asked!.

It is USPS i recieved an email from them, need to look up on how to contact them and get it paid. Thanks, Stevie.

Thats not too bad then the watch I was looking at was a £1050 in the UK and £450 on the other side of the pond.

Sometimes there are some Unbelievable price differences between UK and US prices :stupid:
The Rear end conversion for my Harley would have cost me upwards of £4000 to supply and fit in the UK. :jumping:
I bought the Kit online and paid the delivery, VAT and all other costs, for a total of £1450….. and I fitted it myself. :star:
